When the children were small I would take them to the Natural History section of the Plymouth City Museum on a regular basis. We would spend time investigating the collections of butterflies and bees, of strange fish and crystals and rocks. I secretly loved the marine creatures in their jars of formaldehyde, especially the octopus and cuttlefish. When the Box museum reopened last year, I went along to see what they had done with the Natural History section. I was pleased to see that my octopus was still there in a wonderful curation of specimens. This is an image of it.
