First in this series of monotype images The Lure and the Grouper
This entire series was inspired from local beach walks at Downderry and teh surrounding coastline. After collecting plastic waste, fishing detritus and general rubbish that the sea gave up each day, I decided to re-purpose the contents of these items as a starting point for a new series of work. Focussing on the beauty of the natural environment and our complex relationship with it. Trying to capture the sense of a world underwater, beneath the surface, but also try and say something about the impact of our behaviours on that environment.
