The Pufferfish (Tetraodontidae ), also called Blowfish, Swellfish, Globefish and Balloonfish. Named for their ability to inflate themselves to several times their normal size by swallowing water or air when threatened. Puffer fish may contain the potent and deadly toxins tetrodotoxin and/or saxitoxin.

I took part in Inktober in 2021 which is a month-long drawing challenge driven by daily prompts. I decided to do an ocean themed response and the puffer fish was my drawing for the word ‘Poison’. Out of the depths this slightly cute but also sinister fish appears..
